Post a Comment. Monday, September 14, ImagingPixel. On the front, the elegance of design, with the right portion front of the top plate extended halfway down to the middle to the lens mount.
The lens mount itself, located axially off-centered to the right of the front panel does not carry any mechanical linkages between body and lens, is almost flush to the body. Towards the top right corner of the front panel is the self-time lever, and to the left of the lens mount, halfway down, is the shutter and film ISO speed selector dial. Shutter speed selection is by rotating the dial to match the desired speed to the red dot on the apex of the dial base, and film ISO speed selection is done by lifting and rotating the crown of the dial to display the desired ISO speed selection.
Setting the film ISO speed is best done by first rotating the shutter speed setting to 1-second mark as the film ISO speed display window is located in between the 1 second and B shutter speed position.
On the top plane, to the left of the top plate is the recessed film rewind crank which is also the pull-up film back latch release, and next to it, the Pen FT nameplate hidden in the image by the cold-shoe attachment.
The mini-cluster to the right of the top plate includes the shutter release button with a cable release socket, film frame counter, and a small light window only on the FT for illuminating the photometer display in the viewfinder. Fitting the cold-shoe, as on my review unit, is a very very tight fit, requiring a proper alignment of the claw legs of the adapter to the slots on the viewfinder eyepiece, and a steady and balanced pressure to slot it all the way in. Removing it, if you have to, requires the deft upward pressure of both of your thumbs to slide it up and out.
Could this be the reason that more than a few of these cameras are often seen on the sales site with viewfinder eyepiece that is broken or has their corners chipped? On the back, aside from the viewfinder eyepiece and the film wind lever located on the back of the top plate, the plain non-interchangeable hinged film back. On the bottom plane, the battery chamber cover, tripod socket, and film rewind release button. The film box is the standard configuration as seen normally on an SLR film camera, with the film canister chamber on the left, followed bu the half-frame shutter window, forward sprocket gear, and a multi-slot take-up spool on the other end.
The film tab end is inserted into one of the slots on the outer side of the film spool. The film is wound in the same direction the film forward crank is turned, with the emulsion side down. The standard two blanks shots apply to bring the unexposed part of the film to Frame 1.
Film rewind is also standard with the press of the film rewind release button and cranking the film rewind lever in the clockwise direction until the whole spool is completely rewound. Email This BlogThis!

Pen f lens to Canon FD Body adaptor?I use a genuine om-pen adapter. Thru the viewfinder it looks like a 21mm eq I Recently bought a Pen F at a fleamarket. The lens, a zuiko 1. Seems like the mirror gets stuck. A few pushes on the film lever gets it in to place again.
If a take of the lens, the shutter will work properly. Anyone familiar with this problem? I really wanna use this fine camera soon. Hi, The mirror is connected to, or rather synchronised with, a cam that pushes on the diaphram lever.
When you press the shutter, the mirror locks up or left while the cam translates gently but quickly to the right from the photographer's pov behind the viewfinderpushing on the lever so that the diaphram stops down, the timer starts, then stops, and everything gets back into place.
Does your diaphragm stop down? Does it open back up? Is the lever moving freely? If your fixing the lens meddled with that lever, your problem may be in that area. Hope this helps figuring out what causes it.
Good luck. It is a surprisingly fine camera. The lubricant on the mechanism could be dry enough to prevent the shutter from operating properly. Wind and fire several times on one of the speeds that's working now and gradually work your way through all the speeds.
This worked on one of the bodies I bought a few years back. Otherwise, a CLA may be in order. Big thanks Eric and Dan! I think i'll have to get it cla'd. I tried your method Dan but it didn't work.
I really hope i get this camera to work properly. Well, at that price, a CLA would be reasonable to get it in working order. Done right, the CLA should keep it operating on spec for many years to come.
I have two FTs and an F, and they're spot on, plus years later. Originally posted months ago. Thank you so much ciccone! I was afraid to try it but i did, no problems, now it works like a charm!
The mirror problem is a current one, i discovered this trick when i put my F back to order.
Doing this trick, the mechanism won't do a complete cycle. I have to second Castor in his thanks to Ciccone. I did the trick and my Pen now works perfectly!!!The Pen series is a family of half-frame cameras made by Olympus from to the beginning of the s. All Olympus PEN digital camera series have built-in sensor-shift image stabilisation and except for the E-P1 can use optional electronic viewfinder which should be slid into its hotshoe.
The original Pen was introduced in It was designed by Yoshihisa Maitaniand was the first half-frame camera produced in Japan. It was one of the smallest cameras to use 35mm film in regular cassettes. It was thought to be as portable as a pen; thus the name [ citation needed ].
The idea was to be much copied by other Japanese makers. A series of derivatives followed, some easier to use with the introduction of exposure automation, e. However, Olympus went on producing the simpler models of the Pen family until at least In the descriptions below, the focal lengths indicated do not give the same angle of view as for full-frame cameras: 30mm on the Pen is roughly equivalent to 45mm on a full-frame, and 28mm to a 40mm.
The original Pen is a very compact half-frame camerawith just a viewfinder, no meter and fully manual settings. Its shutter settings are 25, 50, B; its aperture range from 3. The back is removed completely for film loading and unloading.
The Pen S is almost the same camera, with the following shutter settings: 8, 15, 30, 60, B. The Pen D was a more expensive model, launched in The Pen D2launched inis the same model with an uncoupled CdS exposure meter replacing the selenium one. The Pen EE was introduced in and was the amateur model, with fully automatic exposure and fixed focusing. The Pen EE family is easily recognized by the selenium meter window around the lens.
The Pen EE. S EL with a modification of the take-up spool to make film loading easier. EL stands for Easy Loading. You can only recognize them by a small label marked EL stuck on the front, or you can open them and look at the take-up spool. S2produced from tois the same as the Pen EE. S with the addition of a hot shoe. The Pen EFlaunched inwas the last Pen model. It is like the Pen EE. It only exists in black finish, and has a cold flash shoe. It was only produced between andand today fetches high prices on the collectors' market.
The Pen EMproduced from tois a motorized Pen model. The cameras were unique in using a rotary shutter. The Pen Rapid EE. S and Pen Rapid EE. D were variants of the Pen EE. S and Pen EE. D designed to accept the Agfa Rapid cassette instead of the regular 35mm cassette.
They were both made from toand met very little success. For the most part, the E-P2 is identical to the E-P1 except it is available in all-black, and includes the ability to mount a high resolution electronic viewfinder.A great thing, especially for Millennials and other entrepreneurs focused on the bottom line, is that the vast majority of social media tools are free to use.
Another wrinkle that can complicate your efforts to get the most for your social media dollars is that many small businesses do not put together a social media strategy that works for business. These suggestions and ideas are certainly not meant to be exhaustive, but should give an idea of how to get the most out of social for your business, and to do so in a way that is also friendly to your bottom line.
Social media encompasses a variety of options, not all of which are going to be equally as helpful for your business.
There is a lot of information out there dissecting what types of demographics are on which types of platforms, but generally speaking, if your business has a Facebook and Twitter presence you are in good shape.
Few things are more depressing for consumers and customers than to look for a business on social media, to see that they do have a social media presence, but that the platforms have not been updated. Virtually every professional group has an organizational association, but even for entrepreneurs and small business owners there are people and organizations you should definitely engage with on social media. There is no shame in observing what your competition is doing, making it your own, and customizing it for your business.
Taking the approach to social media like everything else your business does might seem a bit odd at first, but it actually makes perfect sense. Social media can, unfortunately, turn into an activity that can drain productivity and energy from your business if you let it. The chances are only 1 out of 300,000. Rather, he gave it as a date before which it could not happen. He later revised this date to 2016. Talmud, Orthodox JudaismAccording to an opinion about the Talmud in mainstream Orthodox Judaism, the Messiah will come within 6000 years of the creation of Adam, and the world may be destroyed 1000 years later. This would put the beginning of the period of desolation in the year 2239 CE and the end of the period of desolation in the year 3239 CE.
According to this Egyptian-American biochemist's research on the Quran, the world will end during that year. The star's axis of rotation will have yet to be determined with certainty. Earth will have likely been hit by an asteroid of roughly 1 km in diameter during this period, assuming it cannot be averted.
Bostrom writes "In order to cause the extinction of human life, the impacting body would probably have to be greater than 1 km in diameter (and probably 3 - 10 km)". However, the supernova would have to be precisely oriented relative to Earth to have any negative effect. However, as the Sun grows gradually hotter (over millions of years), Earth may become too hot for life as early as one billion years from now.
Only prokaryotes will remain. Other possible scenarios include Mercury colliding with the Sun, being ejected from the Solar System, or colliding with Earth. Before the final collision, the Moon possibly spirals below Earth's Roche limit, breaking into a ring of debris, most of which falls to Earth's surface.
Frank Hoogerbeets, who is based in the Netherlands, has been ridiculed for his claims which he says uses planetary alignments to work out when seismic activity on Earth will increase.
His "non-scientific" system is rubbished by mainstream geologists, but he claims he is slowly proving there is something in his theory which says the alignments of planets can create a gravitational pull on our world, causing tremors to strike. He provided a link to a YouTube video he uploaded on November 8, and later Facebook and Twitter warnings he issued hours before the earthquake. Even Iran was mentioned as a possible location for a six to seven magnitude earthquake.
Just hours before the Iran-Iraq quake, he posted on Facebook and Twitter: "Be on watch: larger quakes may be upcoming in the next few days. He said: "We are not out of the woods for sure, we may have another six pointer, possibly a big six or maybe another seven.
Seven major earthquakes, that is really below average. Critics say that because Mr Hoogerbeets gives warnings over a timeframe of a number of days, and issues warnings for several areas each time, across the globe, occasionally he will seem to predict such events.
He points to several examples where he says he was right, amid claims his accuracy is improving. There have been significant quakes after some of his warnings, but he is no longer specific about where they will strike or the exact day. In December 2015 he was mocked after predicting a powerful magnitude eight earthquake that could "change the world forever" would strike on the 11 or 12 of the month, only for it to fail to materialise. There was also the much publicised mega quake he warned was about to hit California in May 2015 - but it too never arrived.
Volunteer rescue workers wait in the rain near a collapsed building for a chance to help in the search for survivors in Mexico CityMr Hoogerbeets admits he also relies on messages from spirits, crop circle formations, and so-called "key Earth dates" in order to predict when earthquakes will strike. Astronomer Phil Plait, who writes for New Scientist, previously said of his predictions: "Let me be clear: No, it won't.
